Pupils may enter Chrysolyte at the ages of 2 years (Nursery), 4 years (Reception) or 7 years (Prep), although places do arise from time to time in other age groups. Competition for places is stiff, and we are naturally anxious to take the children whose parents understand and sympathise with our aims, destination and willingly give their support.
Admission Procedure:
When a parent desires admission for his/her child to the school, these procedures are followed
.
1. Application is made to the school by prospective parents, having read through the prospectus.
2.
An entrance test/academic diagnostic testing, where the appropriate level of curriculum for the child is assessed, is scheduled depending on the age group. As such pupils are not assigned to a class on the basis of their previous year level nor on their chronological age, instead, they are graded on the basis of the results of the diagnostic testing which is a measurement of their current abilities. After the test, parents will be notified to accompany pupil to the school for an admission interview.
3.
Parents and pupils must accept the school’s conduct and discipline policies as outlined in the prospectus and as accentuated by the Head/Admission Officer during the interview.
4.
Parents will be expected to complete a commitment form expressing their willingness to support the aims, destination and the Christian ethos of the school community.

The Headmistress reserves the right, at her absolute discretion and without obligation to give reasons, to require the removal of a child, if in her opinion this would be in the interest of either the child or the school.
