Curriculum For Ages 2 — 16 years Old

We follow a curriculum, which will enable all children to make maximum progress towards national standards and beyond. A standard assessment test is used based on content from both the national curriculum and SATs. Internal assessments are used to evaluate the children's attainment. Information on the academic results undertaken in the school can be obtained from the school office.

Children who achieve above the expected level are given further opportunity to extend their knowledge, understanding and skills.

Early emphasis is placed on literacy and numeracy together with the development of spiritual, personal and social skills. The curriculum is delivered through the traditional and Montessori methodology. The small class structure (14 — 1) enables daily assessment of each child's work and attitude. Apart from the core subjects of English, Math’s and Science, the curriculum includes other Humanity subjects like The Arts, Geography, History, IT, Reasoning, Music and Personal, Social and Bible Studies.

CHRYSOLYTE HAS THE TRADITIONAL STRENGTH OF AN INDEPENDENT CHRISTIAN SCHOOL.

• A high staff pupil ratio, God-fearing, loving, enthusiastic and committed teachers

• The teaching: Traditional — Teacher-centered approach at the Secondary and primary level, Montessori approach at the nursery level.

• Compulsory formal homework, quarterly class test and more formal general testing

• Advancement to new unit or grade level is not permitted until testing demonstrates that the pupils have thoroughly comprehended all materials contained in previous    topics and units.

• There is an Annual Prize Giving Day.
